As a mother of two charter school students who daily utilized CMIT school transportation, Mrs. Mintz noticed inconsistencies in the quality of service being provided by the various bus companies.  Students were not picked up at consistent times, a number of drivers did not have the demeanor to effectively manage children, and upon digging deeper, some companies were not properly maintaining their licensing.   She recognized the urgent need for a  single entity dedicated to managing this vital service for both public and private school.  Mrs. Mintz found that in most educational institutions this program is a secondary responsibility for a staff person that can very easily be overlooked.  The safe transportation of our most precious resources, our children, warrants the utmost attention and dedicated commitment.
